EAD stands for Encoded Archival Description, and is a non-proprietary de facto standard for the encoding of finding aids for use in a networked (online) environment. Finding aids are inventories, indexes, or guides that are created by archival and manuscript repositories to provide information about specific collections. While the finding aids may vary somewhat in style, their common purpose is to provide detailed description of the content and intellectual organization of collections of archival materials. EAD allows the standardization of collection information in finding aids within and across repositories.
The specification of EAD with TEI ODD is a part of a real strategy of defining specific customisation of EAD that could be used at various stages of the process of integrating heterogeneous sources.
This methodology is based on the specification and customisation method inspired from the long lasting experience of the Text Encoding Initiative (TEI) community. In the TEI framework, one has the possibility of model specific subset or extensions of the TEI guidelines while maintaining both the technical (XML schemas) and editorial (documentation) content within a single framework.
This work has lead us quite far in anticipating that the method we have developed may be of a wider interest within similar environments, but also, as we imagine it, for the future maintenance of the EAD standard. Finally this work can be seen as part of the wider endeavour of European research infrastructures in the humanities such as CLARIN and DARIAH to provide support for researchers to integrate the use of standards in their scholarly practices. This is the reason why the general workflow studied here has been introduced as a use case in the umbrella infrastructure project Parthenos which aims, among other things, at disseminating information and resources about methodological and technical standards in the humanities.
We used ODD to encode completely the EAD standard, as well as the guidelines provided by the Library of Congress.
The EAD ODD is a XML-TEI document made up of three main parts. The first one is,

Chapter 175 is titled "The Floor Above the Heavens." The chapter opens with a spectacular full-color spread (in the webtoon version) showing Jin-ho standing alone at the gates of the —a SSS+ rank dungeon that has appeared directly above his apartment complex. Scene 1: The Confrontation The "top" portion of Chapter 175 throws away the slow burn. Unlike previous chapters that relied on internal monologues, this one starts with action. Jin-ho, having been captured by the corrupt Blue Moon Guild, is thrown into the tower as bait. The chapter's opening panels show his glasses cracking—a symbolic loss of his "civilian" identity. Scene 2: Ha Rin’s Descent The true highlight of the "top" of Chapter 175 is Ha Rin’s entrance. For the first time in the series, we see her Apostle Mode . Her hair shifts from jet black to silver, and her guild coat morphs into living armor. The dialogue here is sparse but powerful. As she kicks down the iron doors of the tower, she whispers: "No one touches my neighbor." This single line has already become a meme and a rallying cry within the fandom. The pacing is relentless. Within the first 15 panels (the "top" third of the chapter), we have a rescue, a transformation, and the reveal that the tower's final boss is actually Jin-ho's missing father. Why This Chapter is Trending at the Top There are several reasons why the guild member next door chapters 175 top has exploded across social media platforms like Reddit (r/manhwa), Twitter, and TikTok. 1. The Art Direction The studio behind the webtoon has clearly saved their budget for this chapter. The "top" panels utilize a technique called "panoramic scrolling," where the image stretches vertically to emphasize the height of the tower. The use of negative space—vast white voids contrasted with jet-black shadows—creates a sense of existential dread that the novel couldn't convey. 2. The Power Ceiling Breaks For 174 chapters, power scaling was relatively consistent. S-ranks were gods. Chapter 175 introduces the concept of "Top-Tier" or "Peak" rank. Ha Rin’s Apostle Mode isn't just stronger; it breaks the game’s physics. She doesn't fight the dungeon monsters—she deletes their code. This meta-commentary on the nature of "game-like" systems is the intellectual heart of the chapter. 3. Emotional Payoff Slice-of-life fans will rejoice. The "top" of Chapter 175 ends with a quiet flashback. While the action rages in the foreground, a half-page panel shows Jin-ho leaving a warm bowl of soup outside Ha Rin’s apartment door from Chapter 12. It is a masterclass in "show, don't tell," reminding us that the reason Ha Rin is breaking reality is rooted in domestic kindness, not romantic love (yet).
